At the end of this busy year we would like to inspire you with good news: 2016 will be full of calls with funding opportunities for your coworking space activities! Don´t let this chance pass without seizing the moment to create a win-win situation both for the realization of the EU 2020 strategy and the financial sustainability of your coworking space.
Today we would like to give you some insight into the high potential for the coworking movement to get fundings from European Programmes 2014-2020 for our activities for social innovation, co-creation and the improvement of public-private partnerships for smart and sustainable growth of the European economic and entrepreneurial field.
In the attachment we would like to provide you a smooth overview about possible funding opportunities for the current period and would like to encourage you to share your project ideas in order to form strong and competitve partnerships! Cooperation instead of competition is the key to success, if we consider the positive impact and added-value that this global community can have when uniting forces!
Europe´s coworking spaces have great power and a lot to contribute: the talent and creativity of its people, a strong and a vibrant community, a performing business innovation, its position as the networking and exchange spot for cultures. Likewise, Europe can also count on its strong values, democratic and cooperative mindset, its consideration for economic, social and territorial cohesion and solidarity, and its respect for the environment and cultural diversity.
Europe is facing the need to identify the untapped sources of growth and employment, renewing the legitimacy of public policy-making, especially through greater citizens’ involvement, and of delivering better public services for all, very much linked to our coworking movement.
These issues need to be understood and addressed in order for European Union to progress at socio-economic, political, educational and cultural levels, taking into account an increasingly interconnected and interdependent world. An emerging approach for tackling many of these issues is to encourage creativity and collaboration between various societal actors through co-creation. It is therefore proposed to focus on co-creation for growth and inclusion: engaging citizens, users, academia, social partners, public authorities, businesses including SMEs, creative sectors and social entrepreneurs in processes that span from identifying problems to delivering solutions.
The potential for societal and innovative development through co-creation in all sectors of society is widely recognised and the current socio-economic context, despite many difficulties, provides for manifold opportunities to fully exploit it.
A clear link with coworking spaces as authentic places for co-creation and social innovation in culture may also be found in several open calls of the European Union.
The next deadlines are already in February, March and April 2016, so now it is the perfect timing to start building potential partnerships and harmonizing project ideas.
We love what we do! Heart in hand…stop talking, start acting! Europe needs your ideas and committment to build the society and future we want to live in!
We are looking forward to your feedback and interest to become a partner in our project application and meanwhile let us wish you all the best for the new year 2016!
